A big-time online gambling cheat was nabbed and sentenced to nine months in prison at Southwark Crown Court in London. Yau Yiv Lam, 45, and his accomplices Fan Leung Tsang and Bit Chai Wong conned casinos out of thousands of pounds in a scam that authorities say is the first of its kind to be detected in the UK.

Tsang, 41, of Norfolk Place, in Paddington, west London, and Wong, 39, of Northway, in Swiss Cottage, north-west London, each got a nine-month suspended sentence and 150 hours’ community service.

The three worked together as a team and used high-tech surveillance equipment to guarantee winnings at casinos across the capital.

They were banned from entering a casino again.
