Couple Jailed for Using Counterfeit Bills in Vegas Casino
A Los Angeles couple has been jailed and charged for using counterfeit hundred dollar bills playing slot machines at the Caesars Palace casino in Las Vegas.
Chen Chiang Liu and Min Li Liu were caught when investigators found out they used their players cards while on the machines. Security officers identified 13 slot machines that accepted a total of 60 phony hundred-dollar bills.
After discovering each machine was played with the same player’s card, officers reviewed surveillance cameras and identified the couple.
The Lius were stopped when they tried to leave Caesars on July 30th. When agents searched their Cadillac Escalade they found three red bags stuffed with about $30,000 in counterfeit hundreds. Chen Chiang Liu told the Secret Service that the money was a debt an acquaintance paid back to him.
